FAQ

The questions parents actually ask.

Where do sessions happen?

Your home, a Monmouth County library branch that works for both sides, or online over video call. You pick a preference when you book; we confirm the exact spot by email.

How does payment work?

Payment is due at the end of each session, in person, by cash or Zelle. We never collect payment online, and the booking form never asks for card details.

What if we need to cancel?

Give us 24 hours’ notice by email or phone and there’s no charge. Cancellations inside 24 hours or no-shows may be charged half the session fee — the full policy is on the Cancellation & Payment page.

How many sessions does it take?

It depends on the gap between the current score and the target. Most students book weekly sessions for 8–12 weeks before their test date. The diagnostic makes the estimate concrete before you commit.

Do you guarantee a score increase?

No — and you should be wary of anyone who does. Scores depend on the student’s starting point and the work they put in between sessions. See our Tutoring Disclaimer for the honest version.

Do you offer a diagnostic without committing to tutoring?

Yes. Book a single Full SAT session and mention in the notes that you want a proctored diagnostic and score review.

Do you help with the PSAT or ACT?

The PSAT covers the same material as the SAT, so yes. We don’t currently tutor the ACT — we’d rather be excellent at one test.

How involved are parents?

As involved as you want to be. By default we send a short note after each session: what we covered, what the homework is, and how the plan is tracking.
